Yellow Springs

Yellow Springs is a charming small town (actually a village) located in Greene County with a population of about 3,600.  It feels almost like a different world from the rest of the area and state, as there’s a pretty strong hippie/progressive/liberal vibe. This makes a lot of sense if you take a peek into the town’s history: it was founded in 1825 by 100 families who wanted to create a socialist utopian society. Today Yellow Springs is a colorful town full of cute shops, nearby nature preserves, and delicious food.

Yellow Springs' free-spirited history is reflected in its many storefronts, eateries, and inhabitants. Bright colors adorn most buildings. Many cafes serve only locally-grown food. And don't be surprised to see a barefooted busker or two out on the sidewalks.

If you love the outdoors or you are thinking of taking some time to reconnect with nature then this is the town to be. Visit John Bryan State Park, a famous public area that’s perfect for camping. Other spots to visit include the Glen Helen Nature Preserve, Glen Helen Ecology Institute, and Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, a nature park that’s home to amazing gardens and the perfect spot for hiking.

Yellow Springs is also home to Young’s Dairy which is a working dairy farm but also has lots of family-friendly activities and yummy ice cream!  For a more adult-oriented activity check out the Yellows Springs Brewery.

Real Estate is diverse and being a small village there is not a lot of it so the demand tends to be high.

A laid-back vibe that truly lets you be you.
